Pierre Capponi

I was born in Marseille, France, in 1949. My family migrated to Australia in the early 60's and after settling in Perth I commenced a career in visual merchandising. This spanned the next twenty five years, freelancing with all major retail outlets. I travelled extensively over the next decade, spending lengthy times in the Himalayas. Upon my return I undertook a Fine Art course at T.A.F.E. Central and subsequently completed my Advanced Diploma of Fine Art and Craft in 2006. My work is as fragile as we all are sometimes in our lives. It represents eclipses of my own experiences. Pressed tin, my chosen medium, evokes, I hope, for the viewer, an impression of memories embedded within.
