***emerge ART SPACE has relocated to a renovated circa 1908 building located in the dynamic inner city commercial strip of Beaufort St in Mt Lawley. Our new address is 676A Beaufort St, Mt Lawley 6050. We look forward to showing the works of the talented and innovative artists that we represent in a whole new arena and hope you will join us to share the experience!

Artist Anna Sabadini's profile continues to grow interstate. Shortly she will be exhibiting new works in a group exhibition Postcards from Interstate at prominent Sydney Gallery Frances Keevil Gallery. Lindsay Harris' hauntingly powerful resin, pigment and ochre works on hemp will be shown in a solo exhibition early in 2010 at the acclaimed Alcaston Gallery in Melbourne. Contemporary jeweller Kim Wong was selected as a finalist in the prestigious Design now! 2009 exhibition at Object Gallery Sydney for the best of Australia's design graduates. Congratulations to all three artists on their breakthroughs on the east coast!

The first exhibition which opened on Wed 4 Feb 2009 was by one of the Lockhart River Art Community 'Old Girls', Susie Pascoe who is attracting much acclaim from both astute collectors and arts institutions in the eastern states. She has exhibited widely in group exhibitions and has now shown for the first time in Australia in an individual capacity.

Following on from her show, we were thrilled and privileged to show the work of international artist Francesco Villicich, a painter 'exploring nature as an energised and ever-changing interaction between all its elements, with the formal landscape elements that dominated his earlier works becoming increasingly secondary and abstracted'. (Portion of essay by curator JodyFitzhardinge from Francesco's solo exhibition Paesaggi). His new exhibition Vespers will run Wed 4 Mar - Fri 20 Mar 2009.

We also congratulate the 2008 recipient of our gallery initiated 'cream' award to an outstanding tertiary arts institution graduate, Curtin University Fine Arts graduate, painter Kathryn (Kate) Haug. Her solo exhibition cream 02 will be held at emerge in late 2009. Kate has also been selected as a finalist in the Telethon Artitude 'Young Artists with Artitude (YAWA)' prize 2009 for outstanding emerging artists dedicated to pursuing art as a career.

emerge artist Felicity Sivewright was selected as a finalist for the 2009 City of Albany Art Prize for her beautiful yrical work Regrowth and received one of two highly commended awards. We congratulate her on a well-deserved award.

**NEWS**In late 2007 we undertook to initiate a new annual art award to be known as the emerge ART SPACE 'cream' award. Designed to facilitate the transition of an outstanding final year arts institution graduate into a successful career as a practising visual artist, the inaugural winner chosen was Thomas Heidt. Thomas produces meticulously executed sculptural works, often referencing organic forms from nature and was a 2007 graduate of Central TAFE Perth. The 'cream' award will culminate with a solo exhibition in the year immediately following the announcement of the winner.
